These four pairs, c.1830s, are good examples of the pediment fronted Italianate style of suburban housing built around Blackheath and other fashionable suburbs at this time.

4-11 and 14-18 Somerset Gardens
Loampit Hill
Grade II
This is a secluded mid 19th century development of modest terrace houses and detached villas built around a shared garden. Good use is made of decorative cast ironwork and corrugated iron on the veranda roof.

147 Honor Oak Road
Forest Hill
Substantial two-storey arts and crafts influenced mansion block built in 1895. The building features good brick and terracotta detailing with clay plain tiled gabled and hipped roofs.
